Well, welcome to the Internet. Ok, so this isn’t your first visit, but welcome to our part of the Internet. The purpose of this page is two-fold. We want to talk briefly about Internet safety, and we want to assure you that this site is safe and kid-friendly.
Internet Safety
First and foremost, teach your children to protect their privacy when they’re online. While there are few online predators relative to the total online population, they do exist, and they need personally identifying information in order to commit their crimes. Advise your children to keep things like their last name, social security number, address, age, birthday, school, phone number and family or friends’ names to themselves. Also, be careful about the information that they share indirectly.
Cyberbullying is usually an annoyance for adults, but it can have more serious psychological consequences for children and teenagers. If your child is intimidated online, she should inform a trusted adult and stop all communication with the bully. If she’s using email or instant messaging, she may be able to set up her account so
