The story “Crossing the Wire” by Will Hobbs was an inspirational story of many hard ships, Lossing friends and Meeting new ones. A young man of 15 years of age, Victor Flores. Finds that his crops wont grow anymore. So he Figures he must go to america to help support his family, Also he soon finds he will loose his best friend. Unfortunantly he is not sure how to do this because of his lack of money, and he doesnt know experenced people that would know how to help him. So he trys Traveling by train. Here he meets a new friend. His name is Julio. Julio Tells him that he should try The underground tunnels. Supposedly these tunnels have people that will smuggle you in for a small amount of money, He later finds that they do no such thing. Later On he Finds Another new friend, Miguel With Him Victor really finds out how hard it is to get into america. They are constantly being chased by the border patrol, Its cold and you get hurt constantly. luckly Victor is strong and has some luck on his side. They survived many day together and become very good friends. Finally Miguel get caught by border patrol but Victor doesnt. So he just keeps going. Victor soon finds him self in the same spot as miguel. But this time back he see’s his best friend Rico in a soup kitchen. They both decide that they wont give up untill they make it safely across the border. They spent the rest of the book trying to get safe across, and many time this doesn’t happen. However they keep at it.
