This is a fun story that takes place in the eatly 1950’s when John Kennedy is President and folk singers are starting to be popular.
Tom is short, has frizzy hair, a large nose and glasses. He’s a creep (or thinks he is). He overhears some girls talking about how cool Bob Dylan (famous folksinger) is, and decides that is his way to become popular with the girls. He goes to Greenich Village (in New york City), buys a guitar and immediately meets Angelina. She is an aspiring poet and wants Tom to put her poems to music. Neither is who they claim to be, and the truth finally comes out through a series of misunderstandings and misadventures. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it is funny and has lots of details about the 1960’s (music, politics, Ed Sullivan and the Civil
Rights Movement to name a few) built into the story.
